History: “Mary Schultz's Heritage”.
This rare variety was discovered by Mary Schultz in Brazil in the late 1980s. She later passed the seeds to Glenn Drowns, who officially introduced the variety to the Seed Savers Exchange in 1991. Since then, the variety has been prized by collectors for its genetic stability and exceptional culinary qualities.

* In its native Brazil, this variety is known as “Coroa de Morango” (which literally translates to Strawberry Crown).
An amazing feature of this pumpkin, frequently noted by collectors and experienced gardeners, is its remarkable storability.
Thanks to its thick rind and the high dry matter content of its flesh, “Strawberry Crown” fruits can be stored at room temperature for 8—10 months (and in ideal cool conditions — for over a year!), practically without losing their flavor qualities. Moreover, 2—3 months after harvesting, the flesh only gets sweeter, acquiring rich honey-nut notes, making it an ideal choice for winter pies and roasting!
